Two Washington state trails, Mount Si Trail and the Snoqualmie Valley Trail, both located in King County near North Bend, were recently added to the National Trails System.

In honor of National Trails Day on June 6, U.S. Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell and National Park Service Director Jonathan B. Jarvis designated 10 local and state trails as national recreation trails, adding more than 150 miles to the 1,200 trails in the National Trails System.
