Editor’s Choice: Bags, Straps and Shoes

Ethnotek
Chiburi Travel Organizer

Wallets don’t get any better, or ethical, than the Ethnotek Chiburi Travel Organizer. This globally sourced travel organizer’s roomy design holds plastic cards, paper money and coins, along with pockets for a passport, maps and a pen. A bomber zipper and stitching keeps it secure. What I think is even cooler is Ethnotek’s commitment to employing global artisans by creating high-quality products using handmade textiles. Retail: $40

Eagle Creek
Pack-It Spectre Cubes

My addiction to Eagle Creek’s Pack-It Spectre Cube Sets began when I used them on a road-trip last winter. The stain-resistant, rip-stop, washable, quick-drying fabric isn’t what gets me. It’s also not the quality zipper, stitching, or even the roominess. What gets me going are the many sizes and cool colors—so many to choose from! Retail: Set of three, $40 – $45

Titan Straps

Stretchy, neoprene-like rubber that won’t crack, tear or fray and is resistant to UV rays, rain, ice and salt-water, the Titan Straps secure anything to, well, anything. What do I love more than the 100 percent satisfaction guarantee? The multiple holes along the length of the strap. Talk about adjustability! Retail: 4-pack, $30

Ridgemont Outfitters Mesa Mid-Top

Not quite into outdoor fashion but you love a good adventure? There’s a shoe for you! I love the Ridgemont Outfitters’ Mesa mid-top with its hip curry-colored high-quality oiled suede body partnered with a high-density 100 percent rubber-lugged outsole and Ortholite innersole. It’s where casual urban meets rugged terrain. This shoe will take you anywhere you want to go with unassuming style and comfort. Retail: $99

AKU Nuvola GTX Approach Shoe

This might be my favorite sight-seeing shoe. I can’t decide whether it’s the flexible lightweight design, the Air 8000 breathable fabric, rubber-coated toes for long-lasting durability, Vibram soles for excellent traction on most terrain, the GoreTex lining, or the comfortable cushioned insole. Or, if it’s because no matter where I wear the Approach, people comment on how cool they are! Did I mention that this particular model comes in Seahawks colors? Retail: $100

Great article, I’m going to get the Approach Shoe. Here’s another item to include for road trips to tie things down…LoopRope.
