Tour de Fronds 2017
Tour de Fronds is an annual bicycle event that begins and ends at the Powers County Park in Powers, OR on the 3rd Saturday of June. The Tour offers a choice of 7 rides (5 asphalt and 2 asphalt/gravel) which range in length from 30 to 117 miles with varying degrees of elevation changes on low-traffic roads. There is something for everyone, from the novice to the cycling enthusiast!
This event is fully supported and staffed with friendly volunteers. For safety, all riders are tracked by the local Ham Radio Operators. This allows the participants to spend a day in our remote, gorgeous Siskiyou National Forest enjoying old-growth forests, waterfalls, rivers, streams, and mountain vistas.
A nominal registration fee ($40-$70 depending on ride choice and time of registration) covers a continental breakfast, an array of tasty snacks plus hydration at the rest stops, and a delicious post-ride meal with some serious homemade dessert choices. For an additional fee (payable on site) a Friday Night Spaghetti Dinner is available, as well as a Sunday Morning Father’s Day Pancake Feed. The beautiful Powers County Park offers a variety of camping options.
Tour de Fronds was voted #1 Supported Bicycle Ride in Oregon for 2016 in a poll conducted by Orbike.com. For more information visit: www.tourdefronds.com.
The Tour de Fronds is sponsored by the Powers Lions Club, an equal opportunity recreation service provider, operating under special use permit within the BLM, Medford District and the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest.
